Energy savings through solar power generation and proprietary systems
In April 2013, Yuwa commenced operations at its solar power plant. Komoro City decided to install solar panels because its high rate of sunny days allows for the maximum utilization of solar energy, a clean energy source. Approximately 70% of the factory roof area has been fitted with 1,204 solar panels, generating an annual output of 309,136 kWh. It can generate enough electricity to power 75 households.
Thermal insulation paint
Thermal insulation paint is used on the roof and exterior walls of the factory.
Proprietary constant-temperature air conditioning system
The Mold Technology Center is a constant-temperature room utilizing groundwater and waste heat from machinery and compressors.
Shinshu Green Electricity
Since July 2021, we have procured 100% of the electricity for our headquarters factory from Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc.'s CO2-free electricity produced in Nagano Prefecture, “Shinshu Green Electricity”. This initiative simultaneously reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes local production and consumption of energy.
This will reduce CO2 emissions by 2,870 tons, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 6,732 MWh used in head office production activities over one year (last fiscal year's actual figures). This translates to an environmental impact reduction equivalent to approximately 205,000 cedar trees. We are also promoting reductions in electricity consumption through various environmental impact reduction activities.
Cost reduction utilizing filtration systems
The processing fluid for the wire EDM machine uses rainwater that has been filtered and recirculated. This reduces the need for ion exchange resin replacement, contributing to an 80% cost reduction.
Furthermore, the processing fluid used for grinding has extended filter life through the development and operation of a centralized filtration system.
Forest maintenance activities and forest conservation activities in the "Yuwa Forest"
In April 2022, we began forest maintenance activities at the "Yuwa Forest", located next to our main factory. Forests produce clean oxygen, provide water, and nurture countless living creatures. Through forest conservation activities, we will protect and nurture our rich natural environment.
Furthermore, we conduct regular environmental beautification activities at the Komoro Inter Industrial Park, involving all employees in tasks such as mowing surrounding grass and cleaning.
We will work together as a society to build a decarbonized society and contribute to halting global warming, for the sake of the Earth we pass on to future generations.
